12 Sep Finalist: Eurovision song contest 2020 challenge
Together with our partner Seymour360 we have made it to the finals of the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 innovation challenge. The objective of this challenge is to show the high level of creativity and innovation the Dutch media ecosystem has to offer to the world. After reviewing 209 submissions from 39 countries only 10 solutions made it to the final stage.
We pitched a solution where three cameras stream live 360-degree video to people across the globe. Eurovision fans can join the live show from non-traditional viewpoints. They will receive content they have not seen before on their smartphones, tablets or even VR headsets.
Tiledmedia has proven to stream 360 degree video in the highest possible quality before at IBC. At this tradeshow we streamed 8K 360 live to connected devices across the world for five days in a row. Seymour 360 is known for a number of live VR production like “The Passion” and “Serious Request” in the Netherlands.
The challenge is organized by the Dutch national public broadcasting organization NPO and its partners AVROTROS, EBU, MediaMatters and NOS.
