Multiview Deployments

This page is a repository of known multiview streaming deployments — services where multiple video streams can be watched simultaneously on a single screen. Our goal is to provide and maintain an overview of how service providers are implementing multiview technology across different platforms and use cases.

The table with multiview deployments below is based on public information and our own observations in China. It is probably incomplete and may be inaccurate in some cases since we have to make educated guesses about the actual multiview deployment types. It is also not always clear what device platforms are  supported. If you know something is incorrect or if you have relevant information to add, please let us know with the form below and we’ll adjust the table.

The ‘Multiview Type’ column specifies whether the solution uses a multiview scene composed in the cloud and distributed as a single stream (multi-encode) or relies on multiple video players on the device, each fetching and decoding separate streams (multi-player). Each approach has its own limitations, which are explored in detail in our in-depth blog explaining the pros and cons of different Multiview strategies.

And if you’re wondering why the best solution to the multiview challenge (‘Single-Player Multiview’ also known as Tiledmedia Multiview) isn’t yet listed here, stay tuned, it will arrive early 2025 with a bang!
