15 Aug – ClearVR Live Services Now Available Worldwide
As of Friday August 9th, Tiledmedia offers live VR distribution across the globe, for VR360 content in resolutions of 4K, 6K, 8K or even higher. On that day we successfully completed an 8K camera-to-headset test with Chinese partners to confirm that we can deliver high quality VR service across Mainland China, complementing the availability of Tiledmedia’s services across the rest of the world.
The tests conducted in China involved several Chinese market leaders: Kandao provided an 8K live source and real-time live VR stitching; ClearVR Live powered by Intel’s SVT-HEVC ran on Alibaba Cloud; and Wangsu provided the distribution network.
It’s always a bit boring to state that things ran well – but that’s exactly what happened. The distribution was truly worldwide in the sense that the streams could also be watched across China but also in Tiledmedia’s office in Rotterdam, The Netherlands.
The availability of ClearVR Cloud Live in China complements Tiledmedia’s offering ClearVR Cloud Live running on Amazon’s AWS or Google Cloud and distribution over Akamai and other CDNs.
