A joint technical paper by Intel Corporation, Cosm, Videoflow (by Twizted Design) and Tiledmedia was published at IBC – International Broadcasting Convention 2022. The paper gives an overview of the end-to-end chain of an industry first and truly ground-breaking 8K live VR experience of Beijing 2022 games.
Whereas prior 4K VR services have already highlighted the potential of live VR streaming, they have fallen short on quality for consumers used to watching HD television. The user reviews of the trailblazing 8K live VR streaming of Beijing 2022 games were excellent.
The content was available in the USA for the users of “NBC Olympics VR by Xfinity” app, and in the China for the users of CCTV’s Yangshipin app. In China the streams were also made available for mobile apps and browsers.
