Multiview Deployments

Below is a repository of known multiview streaming deployments — services where multiple video streams can be watched simultaneously on a single screen. Our goal is to provide and maintain an overview of how service providers are implementing multiview technology across different platforms and use cases.

The table is based on public information. It is probably incomplete and may be inaccurate in some cases where we must make educated guesses about the deployment type. It is also not always clear what device platforms are  supported. If you know something is incorrect or if you have relevant information to add, please let us know using the form below, and we’ll adjust the table accordingly.

The ‘Multiview Type’ column specifies how the solution works under the hood. We have seen the following types in commercial deployments:

• Multi-encode: uses a multiview scene composed in the cloud and distributed as a single stream
• Multi-player: relies on multiple video players on the device, each fetching and decoding separate streams
• Single player: managing retrieval and display is managed by a single player. This is what Tiledmedia Multiview provides, and to our knowledge it is the only single-player solution on the market.
